South Carolina Mustard Sauce – Great for BBQ’s!


Ingredients

250gm American Mustard (French’s)
125gm Caster Sugar
3 Tbspn Soft Brown Sugar
2 Tbspn Tomato Puree
200ml Cider Vinegar
1 Tbspn Chilli Powder
1 Tspn Fresh Black Pepper
1 Tspn Dried Rosemary
2 Tspn Unsalted Butter
1 Tspn Soy Sauce
1-2 Sriracha Sauce (dependant upon preferred heat)


Preparation Method

Put all the ingredients, except the butter, soy sauce and Sriracha into a large saucepan and heat slowly and simmer for about 15minutes.

Stir in the remaining ingredients and simmer for a further 10 minutes.

Allow to cool, then cover and refrigerate for 24 hours before use

Check for taste and add more Sriracha if required.

Coat ribs, sausages, burgers or other meat and chill for at least 1 hour and then, if barbecuing, cook as slowly as is possible.
